Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 pickle slices
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions:
Preheat grill to medium-high heat
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Season each patty with salt and pepper
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or to your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and cover the grill to melt the cheese
While the burgers are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them on the grill until they are lightly browned
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to make the burger sauce
Assemble the burgers by spreading the burger sauce on the bottom bun, placing a lettuce leaf, a burger patty with melted cheese, a tomato slice, some red onion slices, and a pickle slice
Top with the other half of the bun
Serve the Butcher Burgers hot with your favorite sides
