Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup root beer
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional: sliced onions and pickles for serving
Instructions:
Root beer, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper should all be put into a slow cooker
Put the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and make sure they are covered in the sauce mix
Set the cooker to low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours
Remove the lid and cook the chicken until it is soft and fully cooked
Once the chicken is done, use two forks to shred it right in the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce
Its possible to toast the hamburger buns
Put together the sandwiches by putting a lot of the root beer BBQ chicken on each bun
You can add sliced onions and pickles on top if you want to add more flavor and crunch
Enjoy while hot
